Q & A

Where are you located?

The Melted Moose wax is poured fresh for you in small batches out of my home workspace in Belvidere, IL.

What are your melts made out of?

All of my melts are a blend of soy and paraffin waxes.

What is your TAT?

Custom TAT will vary and will be disclosed at the time you inquire. Generally I turn out custom orders anywhere between 1-5 business days.  This time is a best estimate as obviously life can happen, but I try to be very transparent if something should change.

How much wax should I use at a time?

I suggest no more than an ounce, preferably half an ounce at one time. All warmers are different and people have different preferences.  In my experience, sometimes less can be more - using too much wax at one time can actually cause scent dampening.

What warmer should I use?

I have tested my wax in a 24 watt hot plate warmer which is what I prefer to use.  You can use any warmer though - but results may vary. I have heard positive things about Glade 20 watt warmers, Candle Warmers brand and tea light warmers. I personally use a mainstays hot plate from Walmart! I have not had good luck with scentsy warmers.

How long does your wax need to cure?

I recommend four weeks from the pour date. Like wine, wax should get better with age! Certain scents require a longer cure time for best performance.  In my experience, lighter scents, vanilla and marshmallow scents among others, generally perform better with a longer cure.  Some scents are naturally lighter and just don't throw as hard.  I personally test all single fragrance oils I offer after a 4 week cure, though some scents do throw well sooner.  Pour dates are included on most products for this reason.

I’m getting no throw - what gives?

My experience is that wax is a temperamental thing.  Almost anything can affect its performance. Quantity used, warmer type, temperature, placement of warmer, humidity, environment. Literally anything!  Not all waxes work for everyone ~ luckily there’s lots of options out there and you’re sure to find one that works for you!!

I am local to you, is there a way to bypass shipping charges to pickup?

Yes! You definitely may pick up your order, however, it is your responsibility to arrange a time with me to pick up your order once you have placed it and I've notified you that it's ready.

Do you ship to Canada?

I may consider shipping to Canada as long as you are willing to cover all shipping expenses.

Do you accept returns?

No, due to the nature of my product I do not accept returns.  However, if you have any questions or concerns, or are unhappy with your order in any way please feel free to contact me at any time via email or Facebook messenger so that I may address them.  Your satisfaction is important to me!

How can I find out when your next sale is?

I am currently only doing custom orders which can be placed through social media accounts or email.

TIPS

*Removing wax from your warmer* You can let the wax cool and then pop the dish in the freezer for ten minutes or so and the wax should pop right out.  You can also use the cotton ball method and soak the hot wax up with a few cotton balls and either discard or let dry and use as fire starters!

*Don't judge a scent by it's cold throw! I have learned this first hand! Scents I thought I'd love and then sniffed cold and was disappointed actually come alive when warm and can be amazing.  Not all scents are for everyone, but if you're on the fence about something, try warming it and see what you think!
